Episode 408

Lonely Losers Need Love Too | 408

We're a day early and completely off the rails. Episode 408 opens with Duchess on a Meals on Wheels ride-along that gets unexpectedly heavy — and closes with a man who lost everything below his belly button and still found something worth living for. In between: an indicted civil rights organization, a fake MAGA influencer built by a guy in India, a DHS official whose sugar daddy went scorched earth, and whatever is still happening in the Strait of Hormuz. It's a full show.

Segments:

  • Meals on Wheels & The Reality of Lonely Seniors — Duchess did a ride-along and didn't expect to come home thinking about it, but when the driver knocks on a door, sometimes the person on the other side hasn't spoken to anyone in days
  • Strait of Hormuz: Still a Disaster — Iranian ships, oil tankers under fire, and a radio transmission from an Indian-flagged vessel that makes the whole geopolitical crisis sound like a bar fight. The waterway isn't open. It isn't closed. It's doing its thing.
  • Southern Poverty Law Center Indicted — The organization that spent decades raising money to fight racism just got hit with an indictment for allegedly paying the racist groups it claimed to be fighting. John translates what that actually means in plain Jersey English.
  • Cash Patel vs. Chuck Schumer — Schumer took the Senate floor to demand the FBI director resign over a beer at a hockey game. The bunker runs a real-time translation of what Chuck was actually saying, and it's not subtle.
  • Trump Tweets Read by Kate — Kate brings two this week: Iran halted executions at the president's request, and Iran is also apparently hemorrhaging $500 million a day and can't pay its military. Make of that what you will.
  • AI MAGA Influencer Exposed — "Emily Hart" had millions of MAGA followers, sold merch, ran a lewd content subscription, and turned out to be a 22-year-old Indian med student who asked an AI chatbot which audience has the most disposable income. Spoiler: he figured it out. This is where the episode title comes from.
  • DHS Counterterrorism & The Sugar Daddy Scorned — A 29-year-old Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism is on administrative leave after her ex-boyfriend filed a formal complaint with the DHS Inspector General claiming she had a profile on Seeking.com. John and Duchess have a verdict, and it isn't kind to the ex.
  • The Man Who Was Cut in Half — Lauren Showers was 18 when a forklift fell on him and he lost everything from the belly button down. He says none of it made him cry. Finding out he couldn't have children — that did it. He's alive, married, and somehow the bunker still manages to go off the rails discussing it.
